SHARK TOOTH SYMBOLISM & FACTS:

Humans offers have been finding fossilized shark's teeth, including those of the Megalodon, throughout history.
Pliny the Elder believed shark teeth were triangular objects that fell from the sky during lunar eclipses. In the middle ages Europeans thought they were "tongue stones" or petrified tongues of dragons or large snakes. They were worn as pendants in jewelry as they are still today, and were also used in medicine.
Native Americans used shark teeth as necklaces and even tools such as scrapers. In 1843 Louis Agassiz gave the shark it's modernly known name of "Megalodon".

Shark teeth have long been recognized as a symbol or protection totem especially in Hawaiian culture. Many surfers wear shark tooth necklaces, not only because they're badass, but for superstitious reasons as well. Wearing the tooth of a shark is said to prevent them from attacking you and is believed to protect you while you're at sea.

KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING AND WHAT YOU'RE SUPPORTING! I do not use teeth that were harvested from living sharks that were killed for their parts. All shark's teeth used in my work are fossils that are thousands if not millions of years old that were naturally shed or naturally given back to the earth. Please, AVOID buying sharks teeth that are pearly white as they are not fossils; they are usually a result of illegal or unscrupulous harvest. Sharks are a very important member of the ocean's eco-system and do not deserve to be killed for their teeth or fins.
