This wedge shaped heavy glass and silver plate piece is a cheese keeper. It is early, from the turn of the last century. The glass is quite heavy with an air hole at the back on each side. There is a foot at the back so this piece slopes a bit to the front. It is marked on the bottom in a beehive shape "figural swan - WMF - G". This cheese keeper is 9-1/8" deep x 7-1/8" wide x 4-1/4" tall. The vegetables are for display only :)
This cheese keeper has been used through the years. The silver plate is worn where the cheese sits. There are a couple offers of flea bites along the side top. Please see my pictures. There is a scratch that can be seen on the pickle in the last pickle. This glass is so thick, that this is very minor. And it is hard to see.
