Rare and unique medicine apothecary collectible.
Metal case (unknown content, but probably tin), with a locking lid.
Houses a round, clear glass apothecary bottle with a ball top ground glass stopper.
Most likely contained smelling salts or ammonia powder.
Inside the cap is a spring loaded, rubber spacer, which holds the stoppered bottle securely in place, without compromising the glass stopper.
Closed and locked case measurements: 4 & 7/8 inches tall, and 1 & 3/4 inches in diameter (across the bottom).
There nubs on the bottom part of the case. There are slotted openings on the top part.
To lock the case, match the openings over the nubs, and then carefully twist the top until it locks.
Bottle is clear, with some cloudiness to insides (residue from previous contents). Ball top stopper is clear, and fits perfectly.
Bottle fits snugly inside the case. No chips or cracks.
