This amazing vintage china from Noritake will be a welcomed addition to your antique collection. The ivory rainbow lusterware is banded with black with gold trim in an Art Deco floral pattern. The cups are lined in a solid peach luster and have gold handles for added interest. The offers matching covered sugar bowl also has gold handles and peach luster at the inside rim. It's a unique set.

I have tried to find this pattern name but have been unsuccessful. I know which patterns are ruled out but I don't know the name or number of this beautiful one.

Lusterware: Considered less of a pattern and more of a glazing technique, Noritake lusterware was one of their most popular and important developments in the 20th century. Lusterware was achieved by adding a metallic oxide over a base color. The thin metallic overglaze created an iridescent, rainbow-like glow that appealed to many, especially at the beginning of the Roaring Twenties and the years following the Great Depression.

Mark: All Green. Letter "M as in "Morimura" surrounded by a wreath, crowned by "NORITAKE" in capitals and below also in capitals, HAND PAINTED and MADE IN JAPAN. This mark was registered in 1918 and seems to have come in to used in the early 1920's when it was used until around 1940. From 1921 until World War II, Noritake pieces were stamped with "Japan" or "Made in Japan."
