Here's a beautiful, light-weight Kantha quilt from Bangladesh from my most recent batch! It's hand-stitched with colourful thread and will add the perfect boho touch to your home! This Kantha throw comes in shades of pink, with the reverse side in a flowers and leaves pattern on a light yellow. It features lovely, decorative stitching on the pink side.

Our newly stitched Kantha products are produced by women in Meherpur, Bangladesh, in cooperation with Tripty Boutique, a socially responsible enterprise. Tripty Boutique is a subsidiary of the NGO Center for Development and Peace, which strives to empower the most vulnerable and at-risk women and children by providing them with a livelihood. Kantha quilts consist of several layers of recycled saris held together by a simple running "Kantha" stitch that is applied row after row and gives the textile its unique, slightly wavy texture. This kind of embroidery is popular with the rural women of Bangladesh and West Bengal. It can take weeks to create one of these wonderful textile pieces, each one of a kind, each carrying the distinct handwriting of its creator's craft(wo)manship.

Care instructions: machine-wash with gentle cycle, hang to dry

Please bear in mind that this quilt is made from recycled textiles. Therefore, it may show some small imperfections, such as staining, patches, mended spots, loose threads or peeling sari layers.
