This is a vintage Mexican sterling offers silver bracelet cuff created in the taller of Los Ballesteros. Frida Kahlo loved her Mexican jewelry.
Talleres de Los Ballesteros is the name of a very famous and respected silver shop that started out in Iguala, Mexico, around 1937, and, eventually moved to Taxco. The family whose surname means "crossbowman" is considered one of the top designing families who came to dominate the manufacturing and retailing field in silver smithing.
This modernist sterling cuff is bold and feminine at the same time. The enveloping hands of the design hug the wrist and demand immediate attention. One can wear it in either direction, but I find it to be comfortable with the tips of the crown on the back of the hand.

Size: 5 3/4" inside with a soft measure tape with a 1 1/8" opening; Almost 7" and can be loosened a bit. The tapering ends of this cuff were created at a slight angle to each other to be able to easily put it on and remove it and for comfort on the wrist. The arms of the cuff taper from 1 3/8" wide to 1/4" at the rounded ends. The 'crown' of the design is 1 3/8" wide x 1 3/8" high. This is a vintage piece that was worn and loved but in very good condition with no dents or dings. Some light surface scratching.
These beautiful bracelets from superb silver smithing families are disappearing quickly onto the arms of discerning collectors; increasingly rare vintage.
