- This vintage handmade Shiwan porcelain figurine depicts the famous Chinese poet Li Bai 李白 writing poetry while wearing light green robe leaning against a rock glazed in blue flambe and a white wine jar.
- Li Bai is known to be one of the greatest poets in Chinese literary history. Over 1000 of his poems still exist today and are translated all around the world. He is best known for his extravagant imagination and striking Taoist views in his poetry and his love of liquor. According to legend, he died from drowning when he fell from his boat while drunkenly trying to embrace the reflection of the moon.

- Shiwan 石灣 pottery are commonly known as mudware, mudmen, mudman, mud figures, etc. Shiwan potters are known for their sculpture and glazing techniques.
- Production of Shiwan pottery has existed since Neolithic times and became popular during the late Ming Dynasty and continues today in Shiwan and Wanjiang in the Guangdong province in China.
