Antique soliflore/Hand painted porcelain & gilt brass lily vase/Jack offers in the pulpit vase/Specimen vase/Arum lily vase/Flower vase

A gorgeous and unusual antique soliflore or Jack in the Pulpit vase. The hand painted, lily shaped, porcelain flower holder is beautifully decorated; It has delicately painted flowers and a butterfly with gilt grasses. against a pale buttermilk background. The vase is set into a socket in the decorative gilt brass base. The underside of the base is quite bright as it hasn't suffered the rigours of dusting and cleaning over the years that the exposed parts have.

Dimensions:

24cm tall - at tallest
5cm to top of vase opening
7.4cm across base

Condition:

Good. Gilding is a little rubbed around the top of offers the porcelain. There is loss of gilding on the brass base

Jack in the pulpit is one of the names for wild arum, some others are: Lords and ladies, Cuckoo pint, Kitty come down the lane, jump up and kiss me!
