Antique Dutch handmade black wool gathered skirt size with button decoration size M/L.

Continental, Dutch, circa 1900.

100% Wool.

Flat front with full handgathering at back, side opening with hook & eyes (2 sets to adjust) and popper to close gap, covered button detail at front and satin frilled section, black trim at hem (to prevent dust sticking - amazing detail) - all handstitched. I've just realised I've photographed it incorrectly from front view - the hook and eyes are to one side, flat panel at front and gathering at sides and back.

These type of skirts would have been worn by Dutch women for Sunday best.

Waist: offers 32 inches;
Length: 37 inches.

Weight: 1.2 kg (allow 1.5 kg once packed).

Condition commensurate with age and use - naive handstitching and hooks & eyes but all part of its unique charm and character.
