An oil pastel portrait of magical scene. Painted on flat canvas board and sealed with an oil pastel fixative.
I wanted to try and capture the feeling offers of being outside on a cool and quiet night. In order to achieve greater detail I used a small amount of acrylic paint for the whales and the stars in the background. I think this mixed medium approach allowed me to better capture the overall feeling of the piece.
