A handmade paper nasturtium in a wooden shadowbox.

This paper flower is made with exacting detail to accurately replicate a real nasturtium.

The flower is positioned inside a shallow wooden box for display. The box is 9 x 6 inches and 1 1/2 inches deep. This paper flower is made from crepe paper and its leaf is made from cardstock which has been painted, layered and shaped. I painted each petal individually to replicate the delicate colouring of the bloom. The box is cream and the background behind the flower is a sapphire blue. There is hanging hardware on the back of the box, but it will sit equally well on a shelf.

I love to create offers paper flowers of all shapes, sizes and colours. This one was copied from a nasturtium growing in my garden. The final effect is like a 3D botanical drawing.
