Bonnet Hat Victorian Edwardian Mourning Bonnet
This is a genuine antique not a repro or costume, I purchased this hat and others from the same estate and the owners name is on most of them.
The hat is black velvet trimmed with pleated silk that wraps around the crown and twisted into flowers on the top. the front piece is trimmed with same silk and has a tiny ruffle of sheer silk and covers a padded roll. The hat has a wire frame and the ribbon also has wire inside of offers it for shaping.
There is a tiny bit of wear to the velvet on one side as seen in photo and tiny wear spot on the black silk on the same side and the lining needs repair. The long ties are black cotton. It is rare to find hats of this era in such great condition.
