Sumba & Pahikung
- Sumba is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
- Much of the cloth is used for ceremonies, weddings, funerals and passed down through families for generations., with designs illustrating island life or having ritualistic significance.
- The dyes are made from natural plants, such as Indigofera tinctoria (which is mixed with lime, and fermented) and the reds from Morinda Citrifolia offers roots. Other colours are made using a mixture of roots and leaves.
- Due to being hand made, there might be some imperfections and sizing differences.
