Handmade with love by an artisan in Australia using only the highest quality materials, these vermeil leopard earrings come with with serious CAT-ITUDE >^.^< and contain very old and extremely collectible vintage and antique Swarovski and Czech glass elements original to the period - to the point where most designer's would only use one or two of these in any given piece because of their cost, quality and rarity.
Inspired by the semiotic decadence of the Art Deco style which originated in France in the 1910s and dominated the decorative arts in Western Europe and the United States until the mid 1930s, these gold filigree hoop earrings would also make *you* the perfect embellishment for any sort of birthday party, gala event, photo shoot, cocktail party, formal event, on the red carpet or as part of a flapper costume for a 1920s party, Art Deco party or Gatsby wedding party!
An immense amount of highly advanced technical expertise has gone into finishing every element of their artistic execution, including silver smithing techniques of granulation and everything except the 24k gold plated finding was made using gold vermeil (a/f) - it has been gold plated with 24k gold with 925 sterling silver as the base metal, which means that it has a thicker layer of gold than normal gold plating that also makes it hypoallergenic - and means they won't stain your skin or clothes!
Starting at the top of each earring is a gold plated lever back finding with gold tone prong setting, and placed on top is an original vintage Swarovski topaz faceted glass cabochon. Dangling from this are two gold vermeil jewellery figure eight connecters, followed by an exclusive vermeil casting with lotus design (cast from a 1920s Czech original).
The dangle on each side contains another gold vermeil figure eight connecter, faceted vermeil Czech glass, and coffee coloured satin Czech satin glass teardrop with tiny gold ball on the end. Tapering down from the middle is a Czech satin glass faceted round bead, followed by a small granulized vermeil bead and last but not least, is an extremely rare original antique 1920s Art Deco two-tone winged teardrops with coffee and topaz swirls. All of these components have been linked together to achieve a very aesthetically pleasing dangly effect as you walk!

Dimensions: The height of each earring comes to 107.56mm/4.235 inches, the width of the centre stamping comes to 32.95mm/1.297 inches, and the bottom drop comes to 50.64mm/1.993 inches. Each earring individually comes to 14.5 grams, and the total (combined) weight comes to 29 grams. They are much *lighter* than they look!
