This wonderful grouping of porcelain figurines is a 1940's String Quartet display, and is one of the nicest pieces from that era I have seen. There are a few tiny signs of age but the group is in excellent condition. Musicians playing cello, flute, violin, and piano are represented. The piano is a separate piece from the pianist. The tallest figure is the flautist (flute) who stands approximately 3 3/4 inches tall. There is beautiful gold trim on instruments and shoes as seen in photos. (PLEASE check all photos for more details.)
Each figure is stamped as shown. The complete stamp of GoldCastle Made in Japan still very clear offers on 2 pieces. These were made post WWII in a time when items made in Japan were required to be marked as such.
These special musicians have been in one home only since the 1940's, and it has been a smoke-free home.
