No.18824 – These Mid-Century French Art Pottery pieces are hard to find!
Made in Vallauris France, they are both signed “Cerenne” and have the painter initials. Cerenne is a abbreviation for “Céramique René Neveux”, who designed and hand-painted Art Pottery in the Atelier Cerenne from 1945 to 1958.
The set is hand-painted on a lovely demi-demi black and creamy white background featuring a beautiful black peacock spreading its yellow and purple tail. This sets consists of a syrup or cream pitcher with cover measuring 6 ½ inches, including the cover and a lovely plate measuring offers 6 7/8 inches across.
The pitcher and cover are in very good condition. The plate has some crazing and a small chip at the back of the rim.
