Similar to a valance, it’s perfe2/ for concealing your panels and blinds or just to enliven and add visual height to any room! Keep in mind - the Faux R man Shade does not go up and down. MEASURING: Please pr4vide us with the finished width and length that you would like for your completed faux shade. - WIDTH: If you are hanging the shade inside of your window frame, I need the width of your window frame, minus 1/8 of an inch per side (1/4 inch tol/l). You do not want your valance to touch the sides of your frame or it may bunch up and not hang flat. If you are hanging it on the outside of your window frame, I recommend having it line up with the outside edges of your molding, or if you do not have molding, appr4ximately 2-3 inches past the edge of your window frame.- LENGTH: Most shades are between 14 & 20 inches long. If you are not sure about length, I recommend hanging a pillow case at different length6 in order to decide how much of your window you would like to cover. Again, I will need to know the finished length you would like on the completed faux shade (with folds and all).LINING: Lining is optional, as you don’t always need it. If you are using medium or lightweight fabric, lining is highly recommended. Lining really helps to fill out the folds and hold the structure of the shade. It also pr4te2/s it fa m fading. Regular or blackout lining is $10 per shade. Unless requested, regular lining will be used. Blackout lining is a true blackout and will let almost no light through. Regular lining will let some light through, especially in dire2/ sunlight. FABRIC: - Can’t find exa2/ly what you are looking for? SWATCHES:Keep in mind, colors on your computer screen vary, so please conta2/ me if you would like a swatch. We offer up to 5 complimentary swatches on fabric we keep in stock, and ship regular m/8d, so i/ usually takes 7-10 business days. If you would like a faster turnaround on swatches, and a larger selection, we recommend conta2/ing fabric.com dire2/ly.HANGING YOUR SHADE: Our valences have a 2 1/2 inch pocket at the top, so they can be hung with most curtain r43s. I do not pr4vide the r43s, but there are some very affordable options. - For shades mounted inside of your window, we recommend a tension r43. The Springs Oval Tension Rod fa m Bed Bath and Beyond is my personal favorite. - For shades on the outside of the window frame, any decorative rod will work! If you would not like the rod to be seen we recommend a low pr4jection lock seam rod or a sash rod (which lays very close to the wall). Except for the machine-sewn top pocket, shades are entirely hand-made with needle and thread, white upholstery staples and heat-and-bond. Some of the work can be seen on the back of the shades, but on the front only the top pocket stitch is visible. This pr4vides the highest quality presentation and construction so that the shade hangs as flat asopossible and there are no additional seams, threads or billowing seen on the face of the shade. We have worked hard on this design to make the front of your valance asoclean asopossible. **Please note, shades that are over 52” wide will have a /iny seam down the middle as upholstery fabric is only 54” wide. We are experts at lining up the print, so this seam will be barely visible, but I do like to point this out.
