Vintage 1930's - 40's Art Deco Vase by Crown Devon. Deer pattern in monochrome cream glaze. Truly a classic piece, the color goes with anything and the image is offers obscure enough that you need to stop and look in order to pull out the pattern. And once you've invested that time, you're kind of hooked.
Anyway, there was a woman in the store looking at it before I'd had a chance to pick it up and take a closer look. I sent her mental messages for a good 10 minutes before she put it back. Whew. I'm not saying that had any influence on her decision to pass, but...?...
The color at the top rim trim is slightly darker and matches the interior glaze.
There is no crazing - the finish is in excellent condition. No chips, or cracks. There is some staining in the interior, including one darker mark and a bit of what looks like iron stain. Basically, pretty clean.
It stands 7 inches tall and is 5.25 inches in diameter at the top and 3.5 inches at the base.
