Bright,bold rescued denim shorts, Sophisticated reworked jeans w/hand sewn textile art patches, Color, character, offers exuberance! Green!

Bold, Bright, Character, Sophistication!!! These shorts, made from soft cut off "rescued" Sonoma jeans, have been tastefully embellished with unique textile art patches and butterfly appliqués. The patches have been hand sewn to the jeans with embroidery thread using a blanket stitch. The patches are made from fabric "tatters", crumbs, confetti, text strips, ribbons, and scraps sewn together randomly on a denim foundation and then machine quilted. The mix of bright bold colors in the elements of the patches bring joy and exuberance to the shorts. This unique reworked, "rescued" garment is sure to be a pleasure to own and wear.

These Sonoma jeans have a label that says slim 30x30, 100% cotton. (see picture) They are a traditional high waisted fit and in great vintage condition - the denim is soft and has developed a nice hue. There are several areas of tattered and frayed fabric on the jeans (visible in the pictures) adding to their vintage character but not affecting their wear. The seams are in tact and the zipper works. The bottom hems are an irregular frayed pattern.

The following measurements were taken with the shorts laying flat - as seen in the pictures:
---across the top of waistband side to side when folded is 16 inches (waist = 32 in)
---across the front from side to side thru the bottom of the zipper is 19 inches. ( hips = 38 in)
---in seam from middle of crotch down leg to bottom hem is 5 inches
---from the top of the waistband to the center of the crotch is 11 inches

I have lovingly made the confetti/tattered textile art patches for these shorts, hand sewn them and the appliqués to the jeans, and personally attended to every detail of this item to be sure this garment is well constructed and will bring you years of delight and service. These shorts have years of wear left but to extend their beauty and offers preserve the art patches and stitching, I recommend hand washing them in cold water with mild detergent and laying flat or hanging to air dry.

These one of a kind reworked denim shorts will kick up the character and color of your wardrobe and give you the added bonus of knowing you are being environmentally responsible and helping reduce the textile waste going to our land fill.
