Antique Candle Holder, Folk Art, Hand Made, One of a Kind, offers Painted Tin Candle Holder with Black and White Cow, 6 x 4 x 3", Late 1800's

offers I think when I found this fabulous folk art tin candle holder my heart skipped several beats and I heard the angels sing. I thought this can't be possible, it must be a modern reproduction, But No! It is the real thing and what a lovely thing it is. It was entirely hand made from tin and hand painted. It measures approx. 6 1/2" log x 3" wide x 4" tall. The little black and white cow is amazing. Wouldn't you give just about anything to know its' history? The paint has been rubbed to a fine patina, Probably when it was newly made the outer pinstripe on the base was bright gold with a narrow red stripe next to it. It has been used and has a little bit on candle wax inside the holders. A serious treasure!!! My best guess is that it dates to the late 1800's.
