Anne Klein for Accessocraft lion head necklace, roaring gold lion face, offers fancy link chain, late 1960s early 1970s vintage

This is a beautiful and heavy cast gold tone roaring lion head necklace on a superb chain from Anne Klein for Accessocraft. Accessocraft designed some of the most beautiful chains and pendants you can buy, and the lion became Anne Klein's perennial personal symbol. This lion face is more realistic, and begins Klein's journey offers from realism to abstraction in her design work under her own label from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. She passed away in 1974 from cancer. She helped as a break through designer in the 1960s in young juniors and sportswear for women.

Size: Lion pendant: 2" north to south; 1 1/4" east to west; the chain is 30". The lion head had been "antiqued" with darker black enameling down in the recesses of the three dimensional design.
