1940s Art offers Deco Flower Brooch, Sterling Silver Viking Craft Nordic Style Leaf Scroll & Hibiscus, Vintage American Jewelry

Striking vintage 1940s Art Deco flower brooch is crafted in solid sterling silver and signed Viking Craft, an American company. Paired hibiscus flowers are surrounded by leaf scrolls and buds. Nordic inspired design was influenced by the strong sculpted streamline style of the Danish Moderns, like Georg Jensen.

Brooch is marked “Viking Craft Reg. U.S.Pat R__.” and “Sterling.”

ABOUT: based in New York City (1938-1940s+) and founded by Albert Horwig. Its cast jewelry was known for top quality and distinctive spare Art Deco designs. Viking Craft created lines of jewelry for high end department stores, like Gump's offers and Neiman Marcus. Gump's branded the hibiscus series it sold in its stores. This is an example from that line (though not marked Gump's).

Wonderful vintage condition, with warm patina highlighting the design (more on the back). Would make a lovely gift.
