Oak Stump Dragons are the Grumpy offers Gus of the family. They typically exhibit a severe get-offa-my-stump attitude, and will spray trespassers like a skunk if they don't comply. Their bites can also result in an itchy, persistent rash. Stump Dragons have a surprisingly short lifespan for draconic creatures. Most live only an average of one year in the wild. The Oak species, however, have been known to live for up to five years. The oldest one on record lived for eight long years, while staking claim to the stump in the commons of a university in South Carolina (becoming the school's unofficial mascot, named Gus).
