Large antique copper ladle offers

Super French antique copper ladle, hand made by an artisan copper smith in the late 1800s. It is a large size, and has a hammered plannished finish and primitive decoration to the handle. There is a ring by which to hang it up for storage and display.
The large size of this ladle implies that it was offers probably made for community catering. Most villages in France have community dinners where enormous pots of food are made for all the villagers to enjoy together. And a ladle such as this would be used to serve out each portion.
