1920's DuBerry Pyralin Vanity Beauty Set.
This 8 piece vanity set has many stories of the roaring '20s to be told… Du Pont produced these sets starting 1917 they are not made out of Ivory but a Bakelite type of plastic in Ivory color. Downton Abbey all the way. Definitely one of Witcher and Sage's magical finds.
Set includes:
Ladies handle hairbrush made with boar bristles.
The hand mirror, has a natural thin crack on the backside and offers worn reflection, much like life.
Hairpin, or powder keeper with lid.
Shoehorn for the difficult fashion styles back then.
Long boars hair clothing brush for keeping the overcoats fresh.
Nail buffer and cover. This piece has been used and the fabric pulled some from the plastic, but easily fixable.
Hair keeper, this piece with the hole in it was to keep hair pulled from the hairbrush and to be later rolled and used as “rats” hair filler and later long rolls used in hairstyles.
Vanity Clock to be on time for dinner or events. This click has the sets stamping on back, wind hands. (Does not work, has not been looked at to fix)
The display mirror not included.
