Mechanical wrist watch RAKETA - one of the brightest symbols of the industrial greatness of the USSR.
"Raketa" — watch brand, produced Petrodvorets watch plant — offers the oldest plant in USSR. The company was among the 13 largest watch factories of the Soviet Union, where it was mass production of hours for personal use. Raketa "watch", produced in Petrodvorets were exported to more than 30 countries.
The first batch of watches under the brand "Raketa" was published in 1961. The brand was named in honor of Gagarin's flight.
Mass production of watches under the brand Raketa began in 1964, and by 1980, the plant annually produced 4 million 600 thousand hours "the rocket".
