offers Original hand signed 1862 Virginia Treasury note issued from Richmond, Virginia. The note has the hand inscribed serial number “98194” in brown ink and was engraved by “Hoyer & Ludwig. Richmond, VA.”. The bust is of Governor John Letcher. The lead bullets were recovered from Civil War battlefields around Fredericksburg, Virginia. They are representative of ammunition used by both sides during the war. The white patina is due to oxidation in the ground. Please see the third picture for more information on the bullets.
The battle scene, “Crossing the Rappahannock”, was reprinted from a Lithograph engraved by Prang in the 1880's. The scene depicts the Federal Army crossing the Rappahannock River prior to the main battle.
The hand made solid Oak frame is 12” x 16” (glass) in size. The matting is dark blue. All of the frame and display work was done in our cabinet shop here in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph of the item purchased.
