Antique Original Russian Dacha Christian Art Wood Carving Engraving Signed Framed


We are offering an antique original wood engraving from Russia, measuring about 7.25” x 5.5” in the frame. The wood is most likely birch, with the image carved in minute detail. This piece depicts a Russian Orthodox church dacha surrounded by woods, built in the style of a log cabin . This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.


The image is signed “P.C.”, but it should be noted that this is in the cyrillic alphabet and would be written in the Latin alphabet as “R.S.”. Written offers on the back in cyrillic is a description of the scene: “Chapel at the entry to the village Pechozero(?) near the bridge over the Poch(?) river/ S. Rosinskij(?)”.


Excellent condition with no chips or wear. There is some visible wood grain, but this was present during the carving process and is not a result of damage.
