This is a print on the Fine Art paper Hahnemulhe Museum Etching 310g per m2 in the limited edition of 40 prints. It is signed and numbered by me. It comes from my original illustration on gouache painting offers and graphite drawing.
It is one of the series for the brothers' Grimms fairy tale "Ondine" illustrations.
Since years I have been inspired by the legends, the fairytales and by the Nature.
In this picture, you can see a man's back surrounded by the dense leafs. The man symbolises the strength, the courage, the honor, the firmness, the bravery, the action, the will, the expansion and the prtotection. He emerges from the plants, the Nature is the source of his male qualities.
This illustration is done in the pantheistic and animistic spirit; the reality is divinity, all-things compose an all-encompassing, immanent god. Than, the plants, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence.
I wanted to represent the Nature by painting it with gouache and to represent the body of the man by drawing it with graphite pencils. Therefore it's a mixed media illustration.
I was unconsciously inspired by Frida Kahlo's, Georgia O'Keeffe's and many others artists' works.
I hope that this illustration is going to bring you strength , courage, power, silence, beauty, serenity and inspiration.
