offers VINTAGE CULTURED PEARL CUFFLINKS STERLING SILVER BESELER TOPCON CAMERA CUFF LINKS
These circa 1960s-70s sterling cufflinks are a rare find in photography memorabilia. They are signed prominently on the fronts BESELER TOPCON in raised relief and signed STERLING on the back of each. They feature beautiful, salt water pearls measuring 6.75 mm in diameter. Likely Japanese Akoya pearls, they are round and nicely matched. They have a beautiful luster from many years in the salt water prior to harvest with only a few small, natural blemishes. The fronts of the cufflinks measure 11/16 inch x 5/8 inch and they are about 3/4 inch long, not including the large, round pearls. Total weight is 16.9 grams. Some light age related surface scratches to sterling with a bit of tarnish. Toggles hold securely. A rare find for the camera/photography buff or cufflink collector in your life! These collectible cufflinks are perfect for a lady or gentleman. Gift wrapping available. (#7RDP10/13-15)
Note: The early Topcon camera was manufactured by the Japanese optical manufacturer, Tokyo OPtical COmpany. In the 1960s, they became involved with U.S. importer, the Charles Beseler Company who began importing the Beseler Topcon 35mm camera into the United States. Topcon ceased production of cameras in 1981. As these are fine Akoya pearls, this rare set was perhaps a gift from the Tokyo division to a higher up in the American division. Research shows nothing even remotely similar to this handsome set.
