Holt Howard Applejack Design Cookie Jar, Whiskey Jug Shape, 1962 For offers Cookies or Dog/Cat Treats, made in Japan
Three young college students decided to start a modern not-your-parents line of modern design. Their surnames are Holt and Howard. The slashes of red and green and black seeds as well as the leaves almost twirl on the black central axis of stem to stern.
Applejack is a colonial New England brandy made by “jacking” or freezing fermented cider to pull out the water as ice to increase its alcoholic strength. So now you know why this shape was chosen to mimic offers a moonshine jug complete with cork!
