This ring pairs the natural beauty of spalted maple wood with the resilience of carbon fiber. This maple hails from the east coast of Canada and possesses beautiful dark "spalted" grains or striations. It is used to compose the inner lining of the ring, and is also featured in an offset exterior accent stripe. The carbon fiber bands consist of 24 000 individual strands of carbon, all bound together and hand wrapped into place on the wood. For its part, the carbon fiber, which is stronger than steel but feather light, supports and accentuates the softer wood structure.
