Product code: Serafin Moctezuma Taxco Sterling Silver Pierced offers Brooch

This vintage Serafin Moctezuma sterling silver pierced leaf pin was made sometime in the 1930's or 1940's in Taxco, Mexico. The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches and weighs 17 grams. It's in good vintage condition. There is a very slight bend in the straight pin. The locking mechanism is in good working condition. This is hallmarked Taxco, Hecho en Mexico 925 around an SM.
Moctezuma is known to have copied many Spratling designs and Spratling himself thought that the way Moctezuma signed his jewelry was done purposely to resemble offers the Spratling signature. If you look at the conjoined SM that Moctezuma used upside down, it does look a bit like Spratlings conjoined WS.
