These feathers are All Found Objects.
The black feather is from a mystery (wild) bird, found at a favorite park in Middletown, CT. The other feathers were found on the ground at an aviary at another favorite park. There are two peacock feathers, and a feather from a Red Shouldered Hawk who lives at the aviary.
This canvas is 20" x 16" and hangs verically. No frame is necessary. The feathers extend off the canvas at the bottom and on one side.
In our family, we love visiting parks, seeing the birds in the aviary, and beyond, and collecting feathers, leaves, seeds offers, flowers, and other treasures that we find. My painting naturally incorporates these found objects.
