Product code: Woodland Gnome, Owl, Toad, Door with stained offers glass window

Our woodland Gnome goes by Frankie while he resides here. Yes, he is amenable to a name change once he arrives and settles into his new home. A woodland gnome caring the for offers the forest, nature, and woodland animals. An experienced gnome of the woodlands he has built his own home with the fanciest of doors at the entryway. His walking stick is the perfect perch for his owl friend who accompanies him everywhere in his travels. Near the door a stunningly cute toad waits to see where they might go and what adventures await the day!

Our gnome is hand carved from Basswood as is his owl and toad. The gnome door is made of Tulip Poplar. The door fittings are also hand carved from Tulip poplar. The base of this piece is a beautiful piece of Black Cherry that was saved for a special piece. Cherry has a gorgeous dept and grain figure which is appropriate for the experienced gnome. The door does not swing open it is fixed in place. All the pieces are fixed in place with hand carved dowel pins and an industrial adhesive. The glass in the door is hand cut genuine stained glass in a rich red color. All pieces are hand carved including the window surround.

The Gnome is approx 5"tall x 2" wide/deep. The Door is approx 5 1/2" high x 5 1/4" wide x 3/4" thick. The toad is approx 1" long x 3/4" wide x 5/8"high. The Black Cherry base is approx 10 1/4" long x 5 1/2" wide/deep x 3/4" thick.

Many hours of work at the carving bench went into this piece. We're inspired by the woods around us to create pieces that are fun and add a smile. Here in North Carolina wood carving is a long time tradition we keep alive for those appreciate folklore and original art. Thank you for stopping by and ...enjoy a bit of nature whenever and as often as you can.
