Vintage Native American replica style doll. Sandy Dolls of Springfield, MO worked with artist Ruben M. Tejada who created the Traditions™ offers Signature Series #902. She is Princess Bluebird, a Hunkpapa Sioux maiden. The doll stands 23 inches tall and dressed in traditional clothing. Her dress is gray suede and has several areas of beadwork. Her boots are decorated. She wears the following beaded jewelry: a choker, a long necklace and dangle earrings.
Condition: Overall, she is clean and in good condition. Her hair is in good condition but one beaded hair tie is missing. If you would like, I can send some matching colored seed beads with her but you will have to find the shell like concho they hang from (a button?). One white feather on her earrings is smaller than the other. I don't know if this was accident or design but easily changed to a larger feather. One dangle on the bottom of her dress has undergone some change. One tie on a two strand segment is mostly missing and the other is shorter. There is one wood bead instead of two. I have seen other pictures of this doll and it seems she started life with a decorative feather on her head.
This doll was a limited edition and is no longer made. Enjoy her as is or do a few minor repairs.
Please note this is a collector doll and not a child's toy. The beads and other details could pose a choking hazard.
