Kooi specialized in portraits as done by his 17th century Dutch Master Artist ancestors of the Golden Age. His work is intentionally and arguably comparable to Rembrandt; in that he focused on the lines and details of his subject's face and hands, while softly blending the color and effect of the garments and artwork periphery. Kooi's artwork has been exhibited in all of the major cities of Europe and abroad.
