Motifs are carefully engraved onto flat and smooth blocks of wood by skillful hands, and these blocks, once ready for Printing, are dipped in colorful hues of pigments and then pressed upon cloth to create an imprint. While these patterns are alluring to look at, largely because of their intricacy and consistency, the wooden blocks in themselves are a chef d'oeuvre.
