Product code: Lancaster Large Cold Meat Fork 9 1/2" ca 1897 offers Gorham Sterling mono

The Gorham Silver Corp.,1831 to 1991, was one of the most productive silver manufacturers in the United States. During it's long existence it made many complete sterling silver services consisting of every possible Place and offers Serving Piece as well as Hollowware and decorative items in it's many patterns. The Fork that I am offering today is from the Lancaster pattern of 1897. It is a Serving piece that is intended to be used for picking up meat that is cooked and ready to be put on a plate. It is one of a set of three. This one is the Large Cold Meat Fork and is unique due to it's size and the bump on the right side base of it's tines.. The other 2 sizes are the Small and Medium Cold Meat Forks. These Forks are monogrammed as most of the sterling sold before World War II it was usually a free service by the Jeweler who originally sold the silver. The monograms on these Forks is an elaborate 'S' and a 'G'. If you have questions about any of my items, please message me and I will answer them as promptly as possible. Bill
