Vintage steel Mobo Toy-Toise I Lead You Follow. Made in England in the late 1940's to early 1950's. This clever "remote controlled" mechanical tortoise walks, or maybe I should say shuffles, when you squeeze on the handle which is connected to the toy by a spring activated cable.

The litho metal body has several scratches and flecks to its surface. The wheels which may or may not be authentic to this toy are wired in place so I surmise the original wheels broke down and their rods were lost over time. The wired on wheels do all match and the toy functions as intended. Otherwise in good vintage condition with wear indicative of age and use.
The body of the tortoise measures offers 10.75" long from nose to tail x 8.25" wide x approx 3" tall.
