This old book is called "A Textbook of Anatomy and Physiology", published in 1950. This is not a reproduction, not a re-print, not a digital print ... this is an authentic book of the period. Written by Dr. Jesse Feiring Williams, this is the 7th edition and it was published by W.B. Saunders Company of Philadelphia and London. The book was first published in 1923, so a seventh edition in 27 years means new knowledge was being added about every 4 years in revised editions. That's testimony to the fast advances in medical and scientific knowledge of the era. The book is in good condition, as all 573 pages are here, the binding is secure, and there are many illustrations offers and diagrams, and 31 plates are in color. Still useful and readable, and quite interesting as it reveals the state of medical knowledge about 70 years ago. The book offers a 27 page glossary (useful for pronunciation and definition), and a useful 36 page index. The book measures about 8" by 5 5/8" by 1 1/4". In good condition.
