A vintage boxed matching set of large Fry & Wigfull 9.25 inch handmade Stainless Steel Table Dinner Knives with Cream Ivorine Handle and signed blade. In the original cutlery box. These wonderful knives are probably 1930s / 1940s. Has an indented top blade - a sign of good quality cutlery craftsmanship.

The vintage knives are each engraved with “Fry & Wigfull, Sheffield England, Stainless Steel”.

The cardboard box with its wonderful vintage blue and yellow brand design says "Stainless Table Cutlery, Manufactured by Fry & Wigfull Ltd Sheffield" and at either end it says "Table Knives" with the Fry & Wigfull Ltd logo. Has slots for the safe knife storage.

Ivorine is a vintage material often used in the 1930s offers and 40s to make the cutlery handles. Ivorine was widely known as Celluloid and was given a number of trade names by those factories that produced it, the best known of which is Xylonite or Xylo for short.

The vintage knives have a stainless superior finish and are still bright and shiny with a mirror polished blade. They are all of identical design and size. Cutlery craftsmanship at its finest.

Each vintage Table Dinner Knife is approx 23 cm (9 1/4 in) long. The set weighs 390 g (13.8 oz).

The boxed Fry & Wigfull Sheffield England knives are in excellent vintage condition with no dents, tarnish or rust. The set presents as if the knives have not been used much although this is a pre loved set of knives. Probably kept for best in the box most of the time. Please view photos for condition. The box is in good condition with some stains and marks but no broken corners.

A wonderful set of high quality vintage Sheffield stainless steel Fry & Wigfull Dinner knives with amazing ivorine handles. The signed name of the manufacturer Fry & Wigfull gives them extra kudos.
