A MEMBER OF THE BUTTERFLY COLLECTION
Each member of the butterfly collection begins with the same outline of a butterfly image and then they morph into whatever comes to mind. There is no right or wrong way to paint them. No one can dictate how they should or shouldn't be rendered. They were all made freely and easily, each one unique and different. They were all lucky enough to hang in the 'Butterfly Wonderland' in Scottsdale, AZ for a time. The wings gently fold over the edge of the canvas and the tail end of the wings wrap around the bottom edge of the painting.
This reminds me of mandala art and the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. The mint green, cold and white are soft and soothing and lend themselves easily to the butterfly image. This was a particularly fun offers one to paint.
