Antique Edwardian Romantic Rare Oversized Shimmering Mother of Pearl Brooch with Hand Wrought Silver Filigree Surround offers

This beautiful and striking Edwardian brooch is part of a prominent French family's estate of fabulous clothing, accessories and offers jewelry. The piece, which dates from the early 1900s, was purchased abroad by the lady of the house and was packed away in an early jewelry box. The brooch is distinctive for its rare, oversized, dreamy blue- gray domed mother of pearl gemstone set in a delicately handcrafted silver filigree design, a look which combines great drama with romance. The brooch, which is in very good vintage condition, measures an impressive 2½” in width by 1¾” deep. Not including the pin assembly, the domed mother of pearl stone in the setting measures ½” high.
