Description:
An Antique Wedgwood Months tile for August produced in 1880. A transfer printed tile in blue and white. The tile was designed by Helen Miles. The series was named by Wedgwood as “OLD ENGLISH” although most know it as the Calendar or Months series. A nice image to this tile with the Women feeding chickens. The reverse is clearly marked Wedgwood. These tiles are a classic for the period. The eight inch tile has the attractive hair bell border, Wedgwood used this on many of their designs when a six inch tile became an eight inch tile. I have several other months for this series, please email me and I will publish details. They make ideal Birthday presents with the correct Month. Be aware that Wedgwood produced this tile in three different shades of blue, this is more a royal blue.

Very good condition. The main image is perfect and the tile has excellent edges, some light staining to the border
