These stunningly gorgeous vintage beads come from a remarkable collection given to me by a generous friend who has left jewelry-making behind to use his enormous life skills to make this world a better place. Because of these beads I'm not only falling in love with old glass, but I'm also doing some research to learn more and more. I can clearly see why the ancients here in what became America were charmed by these gems. Made in Venice, traded in Africa and then here, they offered a diversity of color, texture and light that native peoples had never seen before. And, contrary to what many thought at the time, these offers people prized beauty as much as any of us. I love holding them in my hands and feeling their history, their stories. Simply wonderful.

Made from a collection of wonderful, vintage, cobalt and indigo glass beads with numerous 4 and 5 layer vintage Venetian chevron beads, incredible hand cut turquoise rounds and one of my favorite Green Girls Studio pewter charms, their wonderful landing owl.
