Julie Andrews was 19 years old, in 1954, when she starred as Polly Browne in 'The Boy Friend' at the Royale Theatre in New York City.
This marked her American theatrical debut.
For her performance, Andrews received the Theatre World Award.
'My Fair Lady' producers were so impressed with her performance that they offered her the lead in that play, leading to her expanded fame on Broadway and beyond.
'The Boy Friend' was so important to Andrews that she used it to make her directorial debut, in 2003, at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY.
Dilys Lay, who played Frau Dulcie, also signed the playbill, writing, "Frau Dulcie Sincerely lots of Luck Dilys"
Andrews wrote, "Good Luck & God Bless! Sincerely, Julie Andrews"
It is approximately 6 1/2" x 9" and is in very good condition. There is a small tear at the front bottom spine and the front offers bottom is dog-eared where it opens.
